Apple and Samsung CEOs to Meet and Sort Out Patent Wrangles Out of Court!
Apple Phones, Samsung Phones — By Cat Johnes on May 1, 2012 at 9:25 amIt seems Apple inc and Samsung have agreed to disagree and continue to do so for some time now. All the same, it is worthwhile to note that the top rung officials from both the Cupertino, California-based technology firm and the South Korean mobile phone giant has agreed to meet on May 21, 2012 to try and sort out the issues relating to the ongoing patent wran
gles that they are finding themselves neck deep in.
The ongoing legal spat has been brewing fire since April and involves about 20 odd patent cases spread over 10 countries and the issue does not show any signs of abating either. No wonder the technology media has gone to town with this development.
The decision to meet this May to try and discuss, brainstorm and see some resolution gains keen interest as it comes in the wake of Samsung going ahead and asserting its legal claim on six more patents very recently.
Here, it is also pertinent to note what the present Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Apple inc. Mr Tim Cook has to say about the ongoing legal tussle with Samsung. He asserts that, basically Apple does not want any legal cases going on anywhere against any one for that matter. But all the same, he remarked that his company would also hate to become the developer for the rest of the world too.
Well, as things stand if the discussions scheduled for May 21, 2012 does not prove fruitful, then the two technology giants will have no option but to go ahead and head for a court hearing in July, 2012.
