HTC Desire S Review

HTC Desire S

HTC Desire S is an upgraded device that promises an improved smartphone experience. Instead of making any drastic changes, the company has simply build on HTC Desire smartphone that was launched a year ago. The original device was hugely popular in the market and with the new device the company has made a successful attempt to provide an improved experience to the users. Let’s take a look on what the entire device has to offer that makes it an excellent smartphone.

Design & Screen

Significant changes have been made when it comes to the design and the built. Though there was hardly anything to complain in the original device, but the new device looks all the more attractive. With an aluminium ‘unibody’ chassis, the device looks appealing and solidly built. However, as far as the screen is concerned, nothing has been changed. The size of the screen remains at 3.7 inch and the resolution stands at 480x800 pixels. This may disappoint those who were expecting a bigger screen that some of the HTC devices sport. However, for the majority of users, the screen should not be a concern at all.

Processor and Memory

HTC Desire S is powered by 1GHz processor that makes the device efficient and fast. The device comes with an improved 768 MB RAM. As far as the storage space is concerned the device comes with 1 GB of internal storage space that is expandable up to 32 GB vis MicroSD slot. Thus, the users have no reasons to worry when it comes to storing the data though, the internal storage space could have been more.

Camera

The device sports a 5 mega pixel camera. The camera takes decent clicks and the LED flash ensures that the quality of the photographs do not suffer when the camera is used in low lighting conditions. The 720p video recording capabilities of the camera are impressive and it ensures that the users get good quality videos using the camera.

Browser

The browser of the device functions well and fully supports flash. This ensures that the users get easy access to the video content and the videos play smoothly. The pinch-to-zoom functions well and that makes it all the more easy to navigate long web pages. The size of the screen is also appropriate and ensures that the users get to read even the fine content easily on the screen.

Applications and Operating System

The device has a whole lot of apps installed on the device. Apart from that, being an Android device, the phone provides full access to the countless apps that are available in the Android market for download. This significantly enhances the smartphone experience and makes it a worthy device to own. Moreover, the device runs on the latest Android 2.3 OS which has been very well customized by the HTC Sense User Interface.

Final Words

HTC Desire is a worthy upgrade on its predecessor. Without making too many changes, the company has made sure that the device remains one of the leading smartphone in the market. It has the quality features and an excellent design. All in all, it’s a powerful and a great device to own!
