Samsung Galaxy S Review

Samsung Galaxy S

Samsung GalaxyS is another great offering from the South Korean major. Well, this handset is truly a technological wonder. It comes with so many amazing attributes and a pleasing designing to impress tech buffs all over the world. But, does it offers anything special? Well, lets just go over the features of this handset to answer it.

Designing:-

The designing is also impressive. If you hold it in your palms, then you will certainly end up appreciating the hard work of Samsung in crafting such a beautiful product. The frame also feels odd, but in a nice way. If we compare it to iPhone 4 then the it's about a millimetre thicker than the iPhone 4. But, the interesting fact is that it doesn't feel that it is thicker, due to the its curved back.

The only draw back of this lay out is that it appears a bit plasticicky, which creates a problem if the user aspires for a premium look. It is, however. Impressively extremely light weight at just 118 grams. Hence, we can say that in terms of looks this phone surely impress you.

Display Screen:

Samsung Galaxy S comes with a 4'' Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen that supports 16 M colors and produces an impressive resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. You will be able to see all the contents in crystal clear clarity. The presence of Gorilla Glass will protect it from any types of scratches. It also features several sensors such as Accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate & Proximity sensor for auto turn-off.

User Interface:

On this superb smartphone, the TouchWiz overlay is the most prominent feature & it ends up enhancing the appearance & user friendliness of this widget.

But, users should not expect something of a miracle from this phone. There is not much difference in terms of user interface. Although, it sould be kept in mind that there are several small and impressive changes in this phone. For instance, the approach of Android operating system is quite good to start off with, and the final conclusion is amazing.

It comes with seven home screens where you can put widgets as per your preference. Earlier, Samsung used to provide nine panes. Seems like they think that this was way too much to handle. The most impressive part is that users are not required to utilize all the home screens all at the same time. The extra ones can be deleted, it will also speeds up the process of navigation.

In Samsung Galaxy S, the default homescreen window is present at the left instead of the center. So, the process of navigating through the screen panes will result in too much of side scrolling. Next, this smartphone offers four buttons situated at the bottommost of the home screen. Samsung Galaxy S also offers all the updates of Android 2.1 operating system, such as various new widgets & Live wallpapers. This astonishing product also has more live images than the Google Nexus One. But, you should remember that live wallpapers also put strain on the battery life of the phone.

Music Player:-

The interface of this superior product from the South Korean player offers several tabs for the options of sorting: all songs, current playlist, albums, playlists, artists & composers. Users can also remove those are not requied by them, to make the interface convenient to navigate through.

FM Radio:-

Samsung Galaxy S comes with a FM radio with the RDS. The interface is quite simple to operate and you can save up to 6 stations. The option of loudspeaker is also present.

Camera:

Samsung Galaxy S flaunts a 5 MP snapper, which seems like a norm for the Andorid smartphones. But, Flash and shutter key is missing. The standard user interface for every Samsung handset is again present. Other important features like Geo tagging, face detection and smile detection are also present. Although the quality of photographs is not impressive but it lives up to the mark.

Video Recording:

The option of recording videos in 720p is just awesome. The detailing is quite great & noise levels are low. Hence, we can say that this widget could be a replacement for all of those pocket High Definition cameras.

Connectivity:

Samsung Galaxy S offers several connectivity attributes. For instance, GSM, GPRS, EDGE & dual-band HSPA which offers amazing download speed of up to 7.2 Mbps & upload speed of up to 5.76 Mbps. It also offers Wi-Fi, USB v2.0 and Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP support.

Memory Space:

Samsung Galaxy S offers the internal storage capacity of16 GB . But, if that is not enough for you then it support for micro SD cards. As a matter of fact, you can increase the memory space up to 32GB.

Verdict:-

Samsung Galaxy S offers users a chance to experience the technical brilliance of the South Korean mobile phone manufacturer. It successfully impresses both tech savvy and non tech savvy users alike. Although, there are few glitches, but in the end if you are looking for a Droid then it is certainly a good option.
